  1. So sorry to hear this. He was truly a wonderful manager at Oxnard College, a servant leader.

  2. I am shocked and saddened to hear about Ray’s passing. He was a good friend and counselor. Whenever he passed me in the hallways at Moorpark College he always said, “Hi Miss D.” Rest In Peace, Ray.

    1. Hey Donna,
I was disappointed to hear about Ray’s passing. I knew him from Ventura College when I was there at 16 years old. After the military when I attended VC for my degree in Horticulture he had moved up to administration and I worked in the offices of the administrators as part of work study taking care of all the large container plants. When I came to Moorpark College he welcomed me to the campus. I always liked and respected him. I had planned to attend his memorial, but you know what happened!
Anyway, I retired from Moorpark in 2012 at the age of 57 with 33 years in the district. I then worked my clients for awhile then decided to go back to school and get a Bachelors in Anthropology. I just graduated on Saturday May 23. I discovered that I am not nuts as I was always accused, ha ha. I had lots of fun and met a unique group of professors and students. I spent much time on Santa Rosa Island researching the foraging patterns of prehistoric Chumash people through their ethnobotany. My final paper was 255 pages long.
I hope you are well and that you are enjoying your retirement.

      Sincerely,
      Paul
