Please note that the NEWEST BLOG ENTRIES ARE TO BE FOUND ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS PAGE.
This blog is meant to provide retirees an active and ready means of communication among retirees on current topics of interest. The main communications tool offered by a blog is giving the readers of the blog the ability to write comments on the particular article they are reading in the blog. The comments made by retirees may provide additional useful information on the topic being discussed, or this can provide retirees an opportunity to ask one or more questions on the topic being discussed. In this regard, questions need not be locked to the article being read. They may be fomented by an article read in the VCCCDRA newsletter, The Monitor, or a meeting they recently attended. The idea is to give retirees a ready outlet for any questions they may have, or to give them an opportunity to comment on a recent experience they wish to share that could prove useful to other retirees.
Others in the community may wish to participate in these discussions as long as the purpose is to help enlighten retirees on subjects of interest to them. They can include active employees of the college district, college district trustees, or knowledgeable persons that work for the health industry, for example, some of whom we have had as guest speakers at our Annual General Meetings. The main thing is to try to help keep retirees updated on the latest information they need to know about issues that may impact them.
We welcome any recommendations to help make this blog tool as useful as possible.
